The Lazerton Church dig diary – Friday 24th July

The weather forecast for today was awful and proved to be accurate. Not what we wanted right at the end of the dig and with a lot to do. As more work was required on the burials outside the church to both north and south we put up two pop-up gazebos over these areas and carried on. The heavy rain necessitated frequent ‘milking’ of the water that built up on the roofs in order to prevent large dollops of water suddenly ending up in the trench.

We also spent quite a lot of time in Mick’s Barn washing finds.
